About

Paul is a Computer Consultant with a love for photography and of course his spouse Jennifer. Mostly self taught Paul often reads tutorials online and is part of many photographic websites such as Strobist, Photo.net, Flickr just to name a few. He has also had the opportunity to work with a renown local photographer, Claude J. Gagnon and is very grateful for the experiences gained.
In 2004, Paul’s interest in photography grew stronger and he bought his first digital SLR camera – Canon Digital Rebel XT.
In 2007, Paul upgraded to the Canon 40D and since has upgraded most of his gear to accommodate any type of shoots. His pair of Alien Bee lights with the Vagabond II battery pack allows him to take his shoots outdoors to get some very powerful shots. Some of his favorite lenses include the Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS and the Canon 10-22mm wide angle lens.
In 2009, Paul entered his first photo contest and placed second runner up in the Future Shop “Capture the Spirit of your home town” contest with his Hollinger mine shaft photo shown in the sidebar.
In 2010, Paul added the Canon 7D SLR camera to his equipment list. He was looking at the full frame Canon 5D Mark II but after reading numerous reviews and comparisons he decided to purchase the 7D which he is very happy with.
When it comes to photography he like to be different. Paul likes to shoot wide angles and try different off-camera lighting shots. In the past Paul has done weddings, family portraits, special events, band promo shots & commercial photography.
When Paul is not busy working he likes to go swimming, play hockey and go snowboarding. You can also find him enjoying the outdoors on his ATV or snowmobile. Since Paul lives in the frigid Northern Ontario he enjoys traveling to warm destinations where he always makes sure to have a camera with him.
